The Investor Society ("Investor Society," "we," "us," or "our") operates campoinvestors.com (the "Site"), a free financial-literacy education platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We are based in California, USA, and serve users worldwide.
Information we collect
- Information you provide: name, email address, and (optionally) a phone number when you create an account, join the club, sign up for our newsletter, or contact us.
- Google account information: if you sign in with Google (OAuth), we receive your name and the email address associated with your Google account. We do not receive your Google password.
- Usage and learning data: courses viewed, lessons completed, quiz scores, XP, streaks, leaderboard rank, and similar activity you generate on the Site.
- Automatically collected data: device/browser type, IP address, and cookie identifiers (see our Cookie Policy).
How we use information
To provide and improve the Site and its educational features; to maintain your account, progress, and leaderboard; to send you communications you've requested (newsletters, meeting updates); to keep the Site secure; and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.
Legal bases (for EEA/UK users)
We process personal data under: performance of a contract (providing your account); consent (newsletters, non-essential cookies); and our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Site).
Sharing
We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate the Site (e.g., hosting/Cloudflare, analytics, email delivery, Google sign-in), under confidentiality obligations, and when required by law. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
Advertising
Some pages of the Site show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies, web beacons, and IP addresses to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to measure ad performance, and to prevent fraud. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet. Where consent is required (EEA/UK/Switzerland), personalized ads are not served until you consent via the ads consent message. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info/choices. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Our audience includes students, and we take children's privacy seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. We use a neutral age screen at sign-up. If you indicate you are under 13, we will not collect personal information from you unless and until we obtain verifiable parental consent, and we will offer a limited, no-personal-data experience where possible. Parents may review, request deletion of, and refuse further collection of their child's information by contacting us.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. EEA/UK users may exercise the GDPR rights above and may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California users: although we are a nonprofit and not a "business" under the CCPA/CPRA, we honor requests to access and delete your information as a courtesy. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to DNT signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals, but you can control cookies through our cookie banner and your browser settings (see our Cookie Policy).
Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. We maintain reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including a written data-retention and security approach for information collected from children.
International transfers
We are based in the United States; if you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S.
Changes
We may update this Policy; we will post the new effective date here and, where appropriate, notify you by email or a Site notice.
